m makes flatworm exit
Has anyone used it

Buy a wrasse. I had them all over my 400g and I put a 8line-melanarse and yellow and they took care of them fast. Haven't seen one since. Flatworm exit works but you really need to follow directions.

Some Wrasses are reef safe others are not. Depends on the type of fish. I had Zoa eating nudibranches and Astraea starfish and I added a Melanariua Wrasse and it took care of that issue fast.

Flatworm Exit works. I have used in 2X in the past. I had to do about double, maybe triple, the recommended dosage but you'll see all the worms in the water column once it starts working. Just make sure to have some fresh carbon ready to run since you will be surprised at how many you'll have in the rocks. That large amount of die off can get toxic.

My melanurus wrasse took care of the fw before the haddoni took care of him. But you will still have them in the sump if you have one. Thats easy though, just drain and clean it out with hot water.

Melanurus is somewhat reefsafe, loves shrimp and cuc.

Yellow wrasse and Springer damsels will eat them. Both are reef safe.

I also read if you wait till night and put a flashlight at one end of the tank the flatworms will go to the light. I never tried this but did read from a few people it worked. My suggestion would be to try the flashlight trick and then vacuum as many out as possible that way. After your done with that flatworm exit the tank twice. The longer you wait the worse it is going to get. make sure you have fresh carbon running and also be ready to change it a few times after you treat it. They do release a toxin when they die. If you let this get too bad it can easily wipe your tank..

Also I would add the fish after you clear the problem. Odds are newly added fish will not eat the flatworms fast enough to even keep the problem at bay let alone resolve it.

I've used the flatworm exit multiple times and it is scary to add a chemical and watching only flatworms die and not other things....

The problem I've experienced is it seems it never kills 100% of them... maybe there eggs or some hiding in places the chemical cant reach. But after 2-3months it seems they slowly start to make a rebound... for me 1 treatment every 10months keeps them under control.

ditto on both counts....I have used FWE multiple times (3-4X the noted dosage) and every time they came back....even after follow up doses 3-4 days later. The problem is with substrate (as you have) the FWE does not really get those that are buried in the substrate and eventually they will reappear...the ONLY remedy that has worked for me are Wrasses. I have had full success with both Yellow Coris and Potter's Leopard Wrasses...

No FWs for me since....

also i see wrasses might kill snails(no big deal)
but i have a sexy shrimp it might go after and also i know corals are always a possibility

what about a six line wrasses will those eat them
someone by me is selling one

my tank is full of Nassarius, Ceriths, Nerites and larger snails and neither of the Wrasses I mentioned touched my snails...I also have Peppermint and Blood shrimp with no aggression but of course they are much larger than Sexy Shrimp so I couldn't say with certainty there would be no issues...
With you size tank I would suggest looking for a smaller Yellow Coris, perhaps 1-1/2" max. in length as they are inexpensive and fairly docile IME....

FWIW, 6-Lines are nasty little buggars and will never find a home in my tanks....

+1 never had a wrasse touch my snail or hermits especially my yellow wrasse

I don't know alot of informantion, but here is my story

When my tank cycled I ended up with a huge flat worm pop, probably from the first zoas I put in there or a live rock I used to seed. I bounced back and forth, read alot and some info I found what that the FWE could actully kill your snails too. I had searched many wrasses. 6 line could get aggressive and not even eat them, 9 line could get territorial but would eat them, melanarus would definitely eat them, possible your shrimp, some snails. I ended up going with the mel wrasse due to that fact that they usually leave corals alone though you had to watch your inverts. I picked up a huge one. was suposed to be small. took him home and put him in my quarentine tank. I was leaving for vacation in 2 days and would be gone a week. The night before I left my pump in my quarentine tank quit, was the weekend, noone was open so I had to put him in my DT and basicly leave, crossing my fingers. when I got home. ALL my flat worms were gone. Amazing. and I have not seen one since in 8 months. now I can put peppermint shrimp in and they will last long enough to eat the small aptasia outbreaks but much more than a few weeks and they dissapear, not sure if it's the wrasse but I wouldn't doubt it. if my snails fall and land on their back, he will pick on them as well. also one thing I noticed was that I had a huge pop of stomitilla snails. he devastated them, but within a month they bounced back. Now they only come out at night when it's sleeping. it is by far the prettiest fish I have so far, and the most personality.

I would just do alot of research and pick what works good for your situation.

So much good feedback
Just made it harder to figure out what to do...lol
I think I'll suck the all out for a week straight
Then use fwe-do a water change- then run carbon
And repeat
