Hi,
So ive been reefing for about 2 years and currently im running a 180. Ive been having some serious problems over the last month and half. Here my story.
we went away on family vacation around the 4th and had one of my sons, an 11yr old feed my fish while we were away for a week. He was to give 1 to 2 cubes per day. Anyway, when we returned the first thing he mentioned was he noticed my foxface laying sideways. Anyway, found him basically decayed/bones in the sand and since then ive lost a lot. Ive lost my foxface, clown tang, flame angel, Blue Throat Trigger, Yellow Tang, Cardinal, blue powder tang, brown powder tang and im sure atleast another fish or 2. an awsome Green Carpet Anemone, and a my favorite Blue Carpet Anemone.
All the fish have gone the same way. they start to develop ICH and it progress's to the point the i find them dead on the bottom.

My water parameters are straight and I just did a 40 gallon water change. In fact, ive done several 40 gallon changes since my return around July 4. ANyway, fast forward 2 weeks and all fish that had any visible issues are gone and Ive still got several fish looking good in my tank. Anyway, i decide its been a few weeks so im gonna try and add one of my fav's back to the tank. A powder Brown Tang, again after 3 days though i notice the spots again. He's eating and swimming ok at this point but im worried he's a going to suffer the same fate.

SO, im not really sure what happened to spin my tank into a mess but im having a hard time getting it back. Im currently still hosting a lot of corals, and still have several fish but im wondering why do some fish seem to show up good, get ICH and die while others are in the tank and show no signs or have no issues and havent in around 2 years? Im not running a UV but wondered if thats my solution? Im enjoying the fish i have but i really love the Powders and im determined to get them in a healthy. Any thoughts or tricks or solutions? sorry for the rambling just bumming.

To top it off, i have to hear my kids and wife say, 'you lost another fish' blah blah and my wife say., 'how much was that fish' "oh it was just $20" ;)

currently the fish in tank are.

3 Hippo Tang
Flame Tang
2 Yellow Tangs
Tomato CLown
2 Oc Clowns
Diamond Goby
Powder Brown Tang
cardinal
2 pretty fat Cleaner shrimp
snails
crabs

IMO, you are WAY overstocked for a 180g even after the losses. Please listen to Steve regarding disease treatment. Good luck.

7 tangs??? Way too many large hyperactive fish for a rather small tank.

Also: tangs - quarantine = ich, a quite simple equation.
