LemonPanties

I started out with one aiptasia that came out of no were and now I am at plague statis. I have tried a few methods to kill them but they all seem to just stress the little guys out so that the split into more of the little pest. I have tried injecting kalwkasser and even making a thick paste to smother them with. Ordered a copperband but showed no interest in them at all. Any advise at this time would be wonderfull.

Have been reading a lot and wondering how reefsafe are peppermint shrimp and jade filefish? What will redwine vineager do to alcalinaty?

We had a few aiptasia pop up in our nano. They were quickly taken care of with peppermint shrimp. There are no fish in the nano, just a couple corals.

If you decide to get a Peppermint shrimp, make sure it is actually a Peppermint and not a Camel shrimp.
Although Camel shrimp (Rhynchocinetes Sp.) will sometimes eat Aiptasia, they like to eat mushrooms and other corals too.

Two peppermints cleared up my problem in no time flat. I've used this method numerous times on numerous tanks.

I've also injected them with boiling lemonjuice. Results from this are less favorable.

What do you do if you have a coral banded shrimp. I tried the aiptasia x, But that only kills them for like a week. Then they seem to come back 3 times more.
