recently i have come down with a nasty case of wanting a clam...does anyone know a nice to order online or locally i really do want a small clam...

Were you at the meeting yesterday? Somebody got one for $1 ticket in the raffle.

Aquatic Tech is like $49 and up for clams that I have seen there.

Salty Critter has had some smaller ones starting at $39 or so but if they are too small you will have to feed them phyto daily or they might not make it.

A lot of people use the general rule that if they are less than 2" then they need feedings. Once they make it past that point they can survive without special care for the most part.

I love clams too... take some pics when you get yours.

I was the one that won the clam. Unfortunately I woke up the next morning to a shell. My crabs and snails made quick of it that night. It was a tiny clam, but didn't see that it was dead when I put it in the tank. Going to hold off on any more clams for a while.

I also have the clam bug I am at 4 now with the goal of at least 8 so I know where your coming from ...I could wake up tomarrow morning and all my corals were dead..i would be bummed ...if my clams were dead id pour bleach in the tanks and go look for a hammer....

Me too..love clams and acans..my weakness..doesn't that kid in Lyndhurst have a lot of clams..also some nice ones on ebay..bought my first one for $20 from a seller called reefempire1, course shipping was a lot but I got at least 5 pieces.

Time for everyone to post pictures of their clams...

Reef systems has some very nice derasas for around $40, I bought two from them. I wish there was a better selection local here. All I ever see are derasas and croceas. I would love to get a couple more different species if I could ever come across them. Where do you get your clams from Kevin?
