I have an AIO 30 gallon mixed, after battling flat worms and other parasites in past tanks I decided to try and be a bit safer w my new tank by dipping everything well apparently something slipped by. As much as the naked can detect i notice them on only half of my acros. I was told Interceptor was the only sure thing. But was also told it will wipe out all my my whole system , crabs, snails, even what i cant get out, pods etc.
From what I see they dont seem to be hurting them or stunting their growth however I would like to rid my tank of these.

You guys are the pros, what are your thoughts, what happens if I leave untreated? I have a pill that is 5.75 mg if I decide to use, is it Armageddon to my Eco system? whats the suggested dosing amount and best way to dispense?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Do a Google search of Dustin Dorton in tank interceptor treatment. That is a good start. He explains the treatment very well. Including the dosage amounts. Do some reading about this treatment ahead of time. There is plenty of stuff out there.

It is not as bad as it sounds. Your crabs and shrimps will likely be toast unless you can catch them and house them somewhere else.

Keep an eye on your water quality as with the death of the copepods in your tank will increase nutrients in your water.

Make up plenty of water for water changes ahead of time.

This article is a good read-

Adding the interceptor to your tank is basically crushing it into a powder and dropping it in.
BUT the amount added to your tank should be carefully weighed out. There is quite a bit of room for error here but you want to make sure you are adding enough to do the job without overdosing drastically. There is no point in overdosing one treatment if you have enough to do two properly dosed treatments, which would be better.

Time to get a QT tank too BTW. It would also be a good place to store your shrimps right now.

My sally lightfoot crabs have lived through the treatment twice. They act different than usual and move real slow, like their stunned, but 2 days later their back to normal.

REEF SMAC I didn't think anyone would actually answer all my question and in one reply, can't thank you enough, I will follow up w Dorton and the article tonight.
You think it does more harm than good?

MUSHROOM HEAD appreciate the insight, I do have a couple of emeralds I know I won't be able to fish out so hopefully they they will be as lucky as yours!

For your shrimps, crabs, and copepods? Yes.

For the overall health of your corals? No.

Red bugs will over time destroy the health of your acros.
The treatment is definately worth the hassle. Your tank will be better off once they are gone.
