I think I have finally come to a decision on my lights for my 125g. After a lot of research, I think I am going to go with a 72 inch T5 hood. I plan on keeping mostly softies and LPS, maybe venture into SPS later down the road. Anyone have any suggestions where I should get this and how many bulbs I need?

Thanks,
Justin

60" is the longest t5 bulbs

Which would be a perfectly fine length, because if you retrofitted them, you'd probably make them staggered anyways to spread out the light.

I dont have a canopy to put a retro in right now. I would like to find a fixture with a hood.

4 or 6 bulbs is what I was thinking.

I just bought T5's and I have to say...Check around for the best price. Most will price match...Jay at Premium Aquatics was awesome to deal with! Gave me some additional discounts! The lights I found were $50 higher at Premium Aquatics. Price match was simple and he responds quickly! plus their shipping is CHEAP

Looks like they have a good selection for 4ft and under tanks, but I need to find a setup for my 6ft tank. Since I don't have a canopy, I wouldn't be able to piece together retros either.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Simple, just get a couple 3ft lighting hoods...you can run them side by side.

I thought about that, just seems to be more expensive that way.

Yep, build a canopy, spend more money...tough choices always.

You might look at building your own canopy, then using a couple of 36" T5 Retro Kits, IceCap, SLS. This will save you lots of money in the long run IMO.
