I hope I'm only being paranoid - starry blenny

I hope that I am being over paranoid about this but I tend to think I'm not.

I woke this morning to take a quick glance at my tank before leaving the house. My starry blenny was perched on the rock scoping things out. I got close to the tank and saw him move his eye. As he moved the eye, I saw a very small hazy spot on his eye. Not covering his whole eye, but just a small portion.

Not sure if I should jump the gun and start removing all fish to a QT, or see if it happens to get worse. I have no clue how to handle this.

What if I currently have fish in the QT? I can't add an effected fish in with them, right? I've got another 4 weeks before they come out of QT

I can't get a picture of this since it's so small and he moves too much. I will check him out tonight when the lights are on, and it's feeding time. That way I can get a better view of both eyes. As of right now, I only saw the spot on one of his eyes.

IMO, I would just keep an eye on him for now, especially if he's behaving fine, eating, etc. It might be nothing at all to worry about.

May be flukes. They can make eyes look cloudy. If you can catch the fish try a 5 minute fresh water dip in a plastic bag. Flukes will drop off and you'll be able to see them at the bottom of the bag when done.

Our starry from a prior tank was named Houdini---for good reason. They are NOT easy to catch. He may just have scraped the eye. See if the patch moves, or clears up after about 3 days. Also, some algae eaters have a natural opalline lens ----rabbits certainly do---and it seems to help them find green patches. See if it's only one eye or a trick of the light.

feeding time came and went and there was zero change in his behavior. came out, ate, ate and ate some more (these guys are pigs :) ).

He won't let me get too close to him, as in my face close to the glass, before he jets. i got a look at both eyes from afar, they look identical. when his eye moves a certain way, I see nothing but black, when he moves it another way, I see the white cloudy haze, in one little spot.

Like I said, he's acting normal as can be. I'll monitor him over the next few days and see if I notice anything different. With me not being able to get close to him, im not able to get a picture.

i'll check back in in a few days.

Cool. Like sk8r mentioned, he could've just rubbed against something that caused a little blemish. They're quite hardy so I wouldn't worry too much either way. If you haven't had him for that long, he'll likely become a lot more personable over time. Mine is a complete goofball and even swims/curls up right into my hand when I put it in the tank.

I agree, he is definitely the comic relief in the tank. Very active. I saw him doing barrel rolls in the substrate yesterday. he was zipping all around the tank. He reminded me of a roller coaster. I have a stack of rock with a lot of openings, he'd zip in, out and through every opening. No clue where he was going to end up next. Like a wack-a-mole! it was funny.

Anyways, I'll keep an eye on him
