I invented a great Fish trap

This trap has the added ability to close extremely quickly and be retrieved to the surface at the same time. You can bait it or rely on the mirror at the back to attract more aggressive fish. I know that these aspects are not new. Also, you can easily use magnets to attach it to the side of a tank.
The key is the fishing line connecting to the trap door and extending through the top.

Do you have any for sale by chance? I'm in need of one at the moment and I'm probably only about an hour away from you.

ishmael, that's a really nice looking trap. I have 2 traps that are made by brand name companies that don't look as good as yours. And I like your trap door better than the slide down (guillotine) or swivel door that divides the front opening in half.

I have to ask, why the mirror at the back end? I'd be concerned that seeing another fish in there might keep some fish from going in? I'm considering making one similar to yours, but with a mirror that is removable. Also making the bottom opaque (white acrylic or painted bottom) so fish can't see the food from underneath and just keep bumping at the clear bottom thinking they can get the food.

My better trap (the one with the swivel door) has a plastic loop (handle) over the top. I slide 2 wooden dowel rods through the handle and set them on the front and back glass so the trap hangs 5" under the water surface rather than sitting on the bottom.

Mirror is to attract aggressive fish. They are unaware that they are seeing a reflection of themselves.

Aggressive fish see their reflection and attack the back. I don't think that it would discourage any fish from going in. Your other ideas seem reasonable.
