I just got 200 nassarius obseltta for 18 bucks shipped to my door!

I got the same deal, 50 shipped for $20 total. I should warn you my Peacock will NOT eat them! Infact, when they wander into her den she promtply carries them out and tosses them! Its pretty funny to watch! I have only seen her strike at one when she was demonstrating to me that she was hungry since I hadnt fed her in a few days, once i gave her some krill she promptly left the snail alone, and he survived... They are really cool snails, the burrow in the sand and when you put some food in the tank, they all pop up within 30 seconds like a Leqion of Samurai Warriors preparing to do battle with detrious and algae... They themselves have some funny antics too, and do a great job hunting down and eatin any leftovers, or injured crayfish or ghostshrimp that has retreated and hidden somewhere in the tank...

My peacock is still rather small so he should enjoy them until he gets bigger. My platysoma will love them for sure and even if they refuse to eat them I will atleast have some great tank cleaners. I can put some in my moms 24g reef and my 37g reef as well.

BOOYAH! I am going to have a few really clean tanks and a couple really happy mantids!

People on my other reef forum have purchased these guys on ebay before and have reported good results. Just a heads up for anyone looking to save a few bucks and get a good product!

What size tank are you putting these 200 Snails in?

hahahah right on!

I will be dividing up the 200 little nassarius snails between a 6g nano(home to my platysoma), a 12g bowfront(home to my peacock) a 37g LPS reef and a 24g nano softie/LPS reef.

I was going to go with 100 but I thought for 5 more bucks for an extra 100 was a steal!

My peacock is about 3 1/2 inches and my platysoma is about 2 so they should be able to eat most of them. The damn stores by my house charge 1.50-3.00 for a single snail depending on the type. By having all these snails my sand beds will get stirred up real well and my mantids will have plenty of live food to beat up on at will. I will treat them to fiddlers and ghost shrimp bi-weekly or so but this way I don't have to feed them boring frozen silversides and they can work out their smashers a bit.

Oh and gdm42001, when you get your snails be sure to post what you think as I will do the same. I will probably count 50 or so to see how many really made it alive but I heard they ship up 20-60 extra snails to make up for any deaths or undercounts.

It would make sense that all snails would have a mucus coating. Hopefully atleast 1 of my mantis enjoys them. If not then I will have a ton of cleaners which is still a good thing to have in a mantis tank or any saltwater tank for that matter.

I received 250 of these snails 2 weeks ago and so far, my peacock is loving them. I am keeping them in my fuge and frag tank, as well as a few still in a holding bucket. The peacock eats them as fast as I add them to her tank, bashed obsoleta shells everywhere.

The auctions are still active, where did you get that info? The seller has decent feedback, I'm still going through with my deal.

Wierd.... anyway I didn't get such a thing from eBay, maybe they changed their mind. After the seller threw out a red challenge flag... hehehe

I did not get such a notice, as far as I can tell, the snails should be on their way no doubt.

I would imagine they do random spot checks, and I had the unlucky number...

Well, the cancelation notice came from eBay on Wednesday.
I have sent 3 emails to the seller, no answer from him.
When I look at My eBay Summary it appears the transaction never occurred. (Reminds me of the movie Conspiracy Theory)
When I look at my PayPal account, the $12.75 has been paid to the seller.

BEWARE :(

Keep us updated, I too have a order pending with the seller. Though the eBay status is still active with mine. I e-mailed the seller to ask him to let me know when shipped, haven't heard back yet been 48 hours.
