you have to be wise about tankmates, but overall there is a huge misconception and dogma created about these "RUTHLESS BLOODTHRISTY BEASTS", they are really pretty docile as long as you keep them fed and interact with them...

they only time mine gets ****ed is when I through a crayfish in there... otherwise, if i tease him with scallops or krill then take it away a few times, he will just turn around in his burrow, stick his a$$ in my face and pout for a while....

Glaurung, my platysoma likes thawed scallop.
He likes hermit crabs more, however...

Sometimes, he throws back the scallop that I give him, puts it in a spot just below his cave...the hermits come a-crawling for the free grub.
Well, you get the picture. Hermit-baiting.

In lighter news, my G. glabrous just molted (Yah!!!) successfully.

i new they were smart. my mom likes my g. smithii, saying " awww come out baby!" not knowing that the "preaty" spots on the inside of his arms mean he is p.o. mine loves hermits. he also likes to play games bond and do rolls and duck behind rocks.

they do get a bad rap though. there was this laddy at the lfs that was buying a "Nemo" (god i hate when poeple call them that) after the owners told her her tank needs to be cycled.
she said if i bought that mantis shrimp it would kill my whole system and is a horrible creature. i think they are inteligent

who knows that if humans die off mantis shrimp will evolve and own the earth!
