I just moved back to Sacramento from Las Vegas. I also found out that we are expecting. I am selling my tank, I was active in the vegas valley reefers club here are some details about my set up.

http://www.vegasreefers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=327

ran it for over a year BB and I really enjoyed it, low maintenence, I have an epoxy sand bed, quite a bit of Live rock I have aptasia (one of the pains I'm experiencing), for corals I have a couple of clams (lost some color after move) other assorted, I have a asm g3 skimmer, mag 7 return, tank is set up with a calfo overflow, I have a couple of fish, two really healthy tri color anthias, two carberry's (one isn't doing well after the move), a hybrid powder blue powder brown tang, really health eats bubble algae, couple of clowns, neon dottyback and a cleaner shrimp snails ect.

the stand is custom built, I did it my self. Spent hundreds alone on just the stand, I think it nice. tank is 30" cube, 400 W halide in lumenarc III.

I will part it out if I have to, fish, coral, rock, have to go first obviously. I'd like 1,000 for the setup, let me know if this is outrageous, to me its fair stand was half that alone. brianleecooley@yahoo.com

So far I have some claims on the skimmer, anthias, tang, and coral. I'll let all that sent a pm know when I tear it down. This would be perfect for a newbie who wants to start out I have it all pretty automated.

Welcome to Sactown Bcool :) Just having built my stand, I can really appreciate the work you put into that stand. The offset feet-very cool! And the trim and cherry color really finishes it. Very nice work!

Although you might not want to take a break for too long...Well known fact babies and lil ones love reefs! :D

That is true. My nephews and nieces love it, just seems like too much work, especially after the move and I have to move it again in about a year, another factor is that my wife doesn't really support it and having her pregnant and not liking my reef doesn't help. Plus, I want a dog and she says I can only have one pet, so it all kinda built up. I've had one for 10+ years, without one I probably won't know what to do with all my time.

Thanks for all the response and the welcome.

I would definately get rid of the tank in that situation. I have a 18 month old and was in a similar situation, but I got to keep it (no dog). You might want to tell her how much babies love reefs. Since my boy was 1 month I could always get him to stop crying by picking him up and holding him up to my reef. If you get rid of it now you'll both wish you had it later. IMHO

Kids love reefs.

Wish I had some extra dough. A 30" cube on that sweet stand would be killer.

Neon dottyback = Arabian dottyback? If so, I'd like to adopt it.

I have an 8 month old and there were days that we could do nothing to comfort her. We either held her in front of the tank or put her in one of her seat, swings, etc...and she would stop crying and smile. Sometimes she watches the tank with her mouth open; Just like Dad.

BTW, welcome.
