I have had 3 Croceas and one Maxima die within the last 8 months. I still have one crocea which is around six months old, one Maxima for around two months and a Derasa which is around six months old. I have lost all of these clams while these others have done fine. I try to put the Croceas at least half way up the rock work.
I keep losing clams.

clams need MH lighting and a stable/mature tank of at least 9 mo. to a year. their diet is also very important, along with water parameters and flow.
None of the ones that just dies, but I can take some of the remaining ones.

The tank itself is only around 6 months old. It was set up from the combination two well established tanks.

Tanks should be set up for at least 6 months before adding clams.
The 2" maxima is kinda still in the danger zone for maxima's. Maxima's are the most complicated to keep and 2" or less have a high mortality rate.
Youre lighting seems ok maybe a little much, do your clams seem to be bleaching? If so try moveing them down or adding some sheets of window screen above them to dim the light a little.
Your fish concern me, the tangs could very well be nipping at the mantle's. Angel's and wrasse's are known to be not safe with clams.
Your ph seems a little low and alk is kinda borderline high. bring your ph to 8.2
Pictures would help greatly, and also if you think it might be the fish bothering them you can cut the bottom off a 2 litre bottle, drill a bunch of 1/4" holes in it and wash it out good, then place the clam in the sand and put the bottle over the clam to isolate it from the fish.

Too much light? NO way!!!
I didn't think I had too much light, but who knows.
As far the angel goes, I will not rule it out but he has never shown any interest in the clams as far as i ahve seen. I'm curious why he may like the taste of some clams and leave the other alone. I will keep the nagel in mind, but I will keep trying to diagnose this.
