hi guys

ok i plan to do a 20% W/C every 2 weeks on my tank
and i have an eheim 2215 with bio balls in it,

1) what i want to know is if i maintain the filter every time i do a water change will it be fine to use them?

(i want to keep a few soft corals nothing to hard)

2)i understand that the bio balls are brilliant for removing ammonia and nitrites but nitrates they aint so good on but surely if well maintained they will work brilliantly?

3)also for nitrates i was planning to get a fluidized bed sand filter
what do you all think on this?

i am willing to do the maintenance as i did the exact same thing on my freshwater tank but weekly!

the reason I want to put the filter on is I just don’t feel happy just relying on the rocks to do the filtering if I have the filter running as well it would almost be like a back up for the rock plus a bigger flow in my tank!

thanks
marc
