I love being a reef geek! It is what I like to do with my spare time.I have two tanks a 37g reef and a 55g fowler. My tanks are my passion ,I might be new but I have learned alot in a year.I have had great success and some bad luck with my tanks ,but all in all I love being a reef geek.

i guess i am a geek too. i do have a few other hobbys though. i love golf. i spend a lot of time in the summer on the golf course. sometimes my tank gets a little overlooked in the summer.

I like to consider myself a reef techie. While I can't afford all of the equipment that I'd like to have, I still enjoy collecting and piddling with the equipment almost as much as I love enjoying the final product that they create.

Some day I'll have that 8 foot tall protein skimmer. You just wait.

I enjoy the hobby alot. it keeps me busy. Ive neglected my tank though because of the house remodeling but its getting back on track.

i am a big DIY guy in this hobby too. i think that you need to be unless you have a lot of money to spend. i am building a pretty big skimmer now. But i can not work on it a lot till i get my upstairs remodeled. at least that is what the wife says.

I'm not to big on the dyi , but I like to see the finished product of the people hat are . The dyi is the most important thing when it comes to the financial end of this hobby.I do try, but its kinda like a bull in a china shop. But I did build a stand for my 75g with a 55g sump and it turned out just as I planned.
