Really impressed with the overflow, it has a baffle in it to direct the water and keep bubbles out of the pipes.

Here's that same almost white acro I had bought it's turned a nice light green with a small tint of blue/purple can't tell yet but it's great progress. No growth as of yet it's staying dormant it's okay it's a big colony anyways.

Edited after I posted I just realized this is a little less than 2 month update and im proud of the results :)

Nice!

I finally got my new tank and ati fixture running. The acros did OK except for my bad azz acro colony got too much light and didn't take it well. I had to move it to another tank to try and recover. It was getting filiments right when I was transferring stuff so it didn't like something thsts for sure. Not sure what it was but hopefully it recovers.
I have a ton of new frags all ready to grow but not enough room unless I sell all the big colonies, which I don't really want to do but I may once they get to big for the frag racks. I actually bought some RR pieces to grow out as well, so that should be fun. Some beautiful corals that I got from tony that's for sure.

Thanks, I will post a thread for it in a bit. I just finished aquascaping a min ago and stuff will be one to grow for a few months, hopefully by the time stuff is touching I can move and start my dream tank :)

The bonsai unfortunately got fragged up today because its been in a battle with a cap for a year. One point it was growing over it but it started rtning and I think the new flow pattern didn't help because emperator logs were clogged inside it so bad I turkey bastered it and made a poo storm :( the emperator has been grunting recently since it started changing, I thought it was a power head that was bad and was about to tare the equipment up looking for bad parts until I realized she was just talking to us!

Thanks for the bump Sahin! Things have not been going well here.

Well things went wrong one after the other. I lost a whole frag tank full of new and expensive frags I was growing out. As well as everything in the new tank. Left for a few weeks and someone turned off the valve I was using as a coupling which was on the waste water line on my ro unit, so nasty water was filling the tank the whole time. And powerheads were off and my vodka and vinegar was off. As well as not having a skimmer. I was getting a nice custom skimmer made and the guy took months too long, and when I asked how far he was he wasnt anywhere near halfway done. Even when he said it was finished... This really is what started everything. Everything went wrong and everything died. It hurt! And in the end the dude tried to keep the money I payed for my new sump, by saying it was part of the skimmer. After months of stuggles our bank finally took care of it thank god... Now the two stores I used to get acros from are out of buisness and none of the others around here sell mari or wild acros :(

Good news, I got a marineland 3' cube. I am runing two radium 250s in two reflectors that I cut down the middle to merge together so they would fit the tank. Also 4 t5s and I am going to add 3 2' led strips. Now the hard part is getting corals. I have a number of pieces from a friend who broke down his tank. They are living but nitrates are really high from no skimmer or carbon source. I am very anxious to get a new batch of corals growing, especially in this new tank. I have never had a cube before.

I have a TON of fish in this tank and am doing weekly 150 gallon waterchanges until the carbon source kicks back in. I still have the other new tank which is being used as a frag tank for my wifes corals. All of her stuff lived but the tap water and no skimmer created a huge aptaisa outbreak. Loads of peppermints are on the way. The filefish in my tank is taking care of them and its clean thank god.

Once I get the corals stable I will aquascape to the final look and post a picture. If anyone knows any good places to buy well shipped and taken care of mariculture or wilds please let me know. Or if anyone in the DC Maryland Virginia area has nice colonies they will frag decent pieces from I would love to come grab some stuff. I am feeling very lost without a well running tank full of acros :(

In the end I learned. I have started making my own skimmers out of used skimmers that have no pumps or are broke and large pvc pipes that I get for free from work because they are scrap and going in the trash. I am using mazzei injectors on them. I will see how the few sell. They are going to be so much cheaper and very large. Most are 6'+ and have bodies ranging from 8" to 16". It will probably be hard to sell them considering the size and most people don't need skimmers this big. I am also welding stands now since no one in the area makes stands for tanks for any decent price.

Merry Christmas and have a happy new year, wish me luck!

Sorry to hear that, Piper. I wish you better luck with your new project and merry Xmas!

You had some amazing acros, it's a shame you lost them.

Awwww...sorry for the tank issues. Hope 2016 is better for you!

Put up some photos when things are settled. :)
