I kind of felt bad and spent 5$ on a small frag (brown zoas)that I liked.. but when I got home to acclimate, I see a little chocolate starfish(i think thats what it was) on the plastic bag! SCORE! I love hitchhikers
Aren't choc chip starfish two toned and much bigger? Unless this is a baby... but usually, ones that look like baby starfish are generally some version of asterina, some of which are reef safe and some that are not. Choc chips also have a raised random grouping of black 'spikes' that look like choc chips.
Who knows... If it was my tank, I would do an internet search for strains of asterinas until I could positively ID it. I think the ones that eat zoas have like orange/light streaks on them, but better safe than sorry.
