I need a new overflow the one I have now isn't working to well and I worry if the power kicks off sometime at night then back on the syphon won't restart, experienced this problem today with the poweroutage, so if anyone has one of those fancy CPR overflow boxes(needs to be rated for over 900gph) I would be interested in it.

I actually have 2 u tubes (actually j tubes because the u-tube won't do the job) one I have drilled at the top and put a nipple on to work with the aqualifter the other I had as a backup and just a regular syphon, unfortunately when the power goes out or I change water and turn stuff off they both lose their syphon, for some reason yesterday when the power went out in my area the aqualifter didn't kick back up the syphon, thankfully i was at home and I didn't end up losing power today auntie would not be happy about 10g+ all over her hardwood floors. I have had problems with the aqualifter before I imagine I just need to clean it out and jazz but if I need to clean the thing out every 3 weeks then I'm not sure its all that reliable, I understand I'll need one to use for the CPR I'm just banking on better results, I have u-tube syphons on a couple other of my tanks and have yet to have problem with them stopping, knock on wood. Half tempted to see if Tom from SITC will come out and drill a hole with the tank still running I would be right behind the fan though if the tank cracked. Basically if I'm gone on vacation of at work and power goes out or if the aunts need to do waterchanges I need to feel certain that my tank isn't going to be overflowing all over the floor.
Gwrench the 600gph won't work for me, I only have a mag 9.5 on the return but I want the cpr thats rated for 800gph or one thats rated for more, I have security issues I love overkill.

Perhaps the current overflow boxes you have are not properly matched in height that is why they lose siphon. From the way I understand the correct operation the bottoms of the boxes should be very close if not exactly at the same height at the bottom of the box.
Mag 9.5 at how many feet? I know they are under rated for sure that way the manufacturer cannot be held responsible. I have a mag 36 running wide open at 4' head that's 3200gph on 6 20 gallon long tanks with overflow boxes rated at 600gph on each, one being a refugium at approximatley 180gph that's 3180 gph and still have a overflow drop of approximatl;ey 2".
Offer still stands if you do the mathand it works for you. The only problem I have seen with aqualifters is that algae gets in the tubing because of dirty overflow tubes. Continuous overflow siphon boxes don't seem to build algae like u tubes do. That is my experience. Also never had good luck putting fittings in the cheap plastic u tubes, always seem to leeak air in no matter how well I have tried to seal them.
