Sure it is. If I were to say your favorite beer/wine tasted like human waste, you wouldn't take some type of offensive to that? Or what about Nanocube 12 DXs are the worst tanks ever?

I really wouldn't care.. Its called an opinion, everyone has one.

As for the cars, yes American cars do now compete with Japanese cars here. And do you know what thats doing for them? Naturally it is increasing their reliability. American cars have been much improving over the past years.

Problem with them in the past was that Japanese cars were either not here, or hadn't been here long enough for GM/Ford to really change their engineering/quality.

The past few years? So you mean the 1970 Chevelle, the 1971 Chevy pickup, the 1974 Chevy Nova, and the 1971 Chevy Elcamino i own are inferior and poorly engineered ? LOL. I would love to see your 1970 honda that is still on the road and worth 10 times it's original value. The American cars that are inferior, are the ones that are built as cheaply as possible for people that can't afford to spend much on a car to get back and forth to work. An s-10 pickup is exactly that, a low budget truck that was built as a cheap vehicle made to be sold cheap and be good on gas mileage.

Seth, the key to making that truck a reliable vehicle, is to not buy cheap foriegn made parts when it does break. If you replace your broken parts with GM, or ac/delco parts, you will find that you won't be working on it near as much. Those parts might cost you a few dollars more, but they will last much longer than the cheaply made foriegn junk.

I just have to say Justin that I love your avatar its great with the kitty and the santa hat :)

Debating where one car is made versus the other is one of those age old things that.. is age old. Seth if you can get into a position to find a more reliable car no matter if its made american, foreign or made of cheese, a more reliable car versus what you have will be a wonderful thing to have :)

And in Japan the entire business model and work ethic is different. They have 100 year business models - instead of the more common ones in America focusing on next quarter, next quarter etc.. they are like okay 10, 20, 50, 100 years in the future we want to be here. Its a really cool thing they do and I think just part of the business culture out there. One of the more deep rooted differences versus the capitalistic style we have here trying to please stock holders. IMO that influences the way a company and its products end up existing.

i agree with walmart...iv worked for them for almost 2 years- i work in the pharmacy but i see them hiring people constantly...especially stockers. definitally follow up on it though-talk to a manager and call back a couple days later. they have like 100 people a day fill out an application-so you need to find a way to stick out.

target might be a good idea as well-i know that most stores like that need holiday help..but seeing the mass size of walmart- you can understand why they need so much help.

:)

Hey Seith what happed to the candy door to door sales? ($89 box an hour if I remember your thread clearly).
Good luck, you can cut grass and make good money around your neighborhood.

OK, just checked this post, and i will try my best to reply to most all of the recommendations...

I have applied to almost all the stores at the loop, and all but panera, and ross have some reaosn they cant hire people that are under 18 (bummer)...and the manager at parera doesnt like me so i am screwed with that one... AND I LIVE LIKE A MILE FROM THE LOOP!!!!!! it sucks...lol

Aquaholics...hahah, now thats funny. I have been trying to get a job there for YEARS (Dan knows...hahaha)...yeah, even now that they are moving to a bigger store, they still dont need help : (

Seaworld, i am actually working with my manager at gatorland right now to get a job in at seaworld, you see, it actually is not seaworld that does the photographer, it is a seperate company, and my boss knows the head guy over there, so that may be what i get into, thank for the suggestion.

I have filled out 4 app's for target, and they manager keeps on saying that i dont have enough for him to hire me...???

and the candy thing, yes i made ALOT mof money, but i have found that because i am a little bit older now, it isnt as effective, i have other "twists" on the concept that i am using now, but the problem with that is that it is not "constant" income. I need to garuntee that i will get at least a certain set amount of money per week, and selling door to door does get good money, but there may be weeks without me being able to go out, thus, no income... I did cut grass, but becasue of the change in temperature, grass no longer needs to be cut now.

I really appreicate all of your suggestions, and i am giong to go out tomorrow and put in an app for walmart, and call abotu the seaworld gig, and i am also goign to go to the flroida mall for kicks... THanks again
