I need a MH setup for my 12g tank...

undecided at the moment...I like the fact stated that the t-5's dont produce as much heat, which I can see that to be true. But, the only thing that Im concerned about is the growth factor. I see alot of people that have the MH on their big tanks and they seem to work great. What if they were running just t-5's? Why would mine be different? The size factor as to where I really dont need a MH setup because its a smaller tank and t-5's would be ample "sun rays"? I also read there isnt a really big difference versus PC's and T-5's when compared to "sun ray" output. I know chad from reading other comments and such about you that if you could you would buy the sun and the moon for yourself if you could for your tank. As some say you have some of the best equipment, in that case you would have the best "natural" equipment. :D J/K. But no, that is why at the moment Im undecided.....Plus, I really dont know anyone that has other SW tanks that have a MH versus T-5 setup that I can compare to.

Highlight of the night, that was freaking hilarious !!!!!

T-5's 10k give excellent growth, and the Actinics are almost uncomparable.

When people have "growth" in their tanks its often from water changes and age of the tank. Husbandry comes before equipment, no matter whay Farmer says hahaha.

I would not reccomend them if I did not think you would love. Im giving you my most honest and educated advice.
I would say go see a t-5 tank in person, but I can't say where.
Where is trottman and his camera when you need one.

well I think youre going to have a size issue with the t5's hello lights has 24" or 12", none of which really fit your tank (21.5")

not only that, you only get 14w per bulb with t5 vs. 70w

with an auto top off you will be fine (you'll be refilling it a lot) but the intensity of MH is outstanding...if you go with a 10000k bulb you might not need actinic support, but that's all trial and error to your personal preferance

My friends to take a journey off the beeten path try looking what worms way has to offer. asfar as lighting and other alternative Ideas you may have. they could probably fix you up all your lighting need at a fraction of the cost I always got them guys working on my old ballast and they come through gust a alternative sulution to some of the intricate problems we face yeehaaa.

ok, so now I suppose the issue with t-5's in my case would be size. Is their any T-5's that will fit my tank? Mind you, Im looking for a complete system with the light surround and all.
