I need a micro chiller

Hi! I am new to this site.
I have a 12g aqua-pod nano that won't get below 80*.
Does anyone know how well the Coolworks Microchiller is and if it will fit into one of the resovoirs or will hang on the back of this tank as it has a hinged lid to it?

just wondering what type of lights are you using in your canopy? and i i were you i would try installing some fans in the canopy. that chiller is only making so the current problem better, but wasting more power... it would be more effiecent to install some small fans in your canopy to increase the air movement... you would be supprized even wha little ocmputer fans will do... its the still air over your tank inside the canopy that cause it to heat up... if you vent that you will probbably see a big diffrence if you currently have no ventialtion.

no, that thing won't fit in the resovoirs and you will have to chop out a lot of plastic to hang it on the back. It's pretty big.

I have a 12 Gal Aquapod as well. I was having heating issues, then one of my fans went out, so I put 2 80mm computer fans in the top, but still had the heating problems. What I do now until I can upgrade to a bigger system or get a chiller is leave the feeding flap open with a little desk fan sitting on the lid aimed into the tank. My temps range from 77.5-81 now instead of 80-87.

Thankfully I caught it in time before I lost everything in the set up.

The fan I got was $7 at Wal-Mart. Lakewood is the brand.

do you have only one fan? do you know the RPM? becuase i know a 7$ fan form walmart might seem like a good deal... but a good fan can be 30-50$ and 2 help so much more then one because one pulls cool air in and the other pushes the hot air out... otherwise you leave the lid open it has to push the air out of the cracks/vents and i bet that walmart fan dosent have all that much pushing power

Have you drilled out the second layer of slots from the vent areas?
that frees up a lot of air flow?
also what is the ambient temp of the room it resides in?

I think the most important factor to helps assist the cooling of the cube is the ambient air temperture.

I do have a Iceprobe w/ controller to be install in my cube if I find the temp. to be undesirable but never get a chance to use it. (for sale just in case someone is interested).

I keep my central air condition at 77 degree and my tank never see temp. pass 80's mostly high 79 degrees with two small computer fan blowing in, over the water surface.

my ambient temp in the house is 78. The tank can sometimes get close to 82.
I haven't done anything as of yet, but thanks for all the replies. I will get with my husband to see what he thinks about all the ideas here.
The nano came with dual daylight, 24 hr moon LED and a dual actinic.
I will have to check the fans to make sure they are running properly, if not, go to plan B>

Run a fan over the water until you can get a chiller. I'm saving up now for a chiller that runs on a compressor, that's the best way to get consistent temps.
