I sure dont see a picture of the fish at that link...

I've never seen a picture of this trigger, no website seems to have one either.

Just tell the guy to look up every other trigger on the web and then when he is diving, it will be the trigger he hasnt seen before

Yup, I don't see any there either, mainly blue throat, sargassum, crosshatch, and a bunch of tangs and angels at the bottom.

I'd be interested in seeing one too. This is one Xanthichthys trigger I've never heard of.

it was found in 1832 so it can not be a deep sea fish

If he dives in Mauritius all the time, he should be able to tell you if the trigger is there or not I would think, he shouldnt need a picture. I would guess he could list the triggers found in his location.

records don't necessarily convey diving. most of them are probably in food markets. email daniel pelicier. he might have a photo. supposedly it looks like Lineopunctatus. i'd rather see R. cinereus get collected..
