I need a strong pump small foot print! 1200gph-1800gph @ 4ft

I spent the last 5 hours playing around with my plumbing and there's just no simple way to dump a Dolphin 3k and a Sequence 3600 in the back of my tank with the maze of PVC for the 4-way. Especially when the Sequence uses 2" pipe and the Dolphin uses 1.5"

I'm giving up the Dolphin pump! A Panword 100PXX or the like seems to be a better candidate.

The original plan was to split the Dolphin up and have about 1200 to the SeaSwirl return and 500gph through my chiller.

I will settle for ANY return pump at this point just to get my damn tank filled. External will be great and should have 1" suction/output. Gotta be smaller than the Dolphin 3k pump. Shiet, I'll even do an internal pump for the time being. It's been way to long and I'm taking a day off tomorrow to wrap things up.

So if anyone local have a pump they think that will work let me know. I'm desperate and I'm losing my patience.

How come you didn't call me last night dude? I thought you didn't want to work on the tank that's why you didn't call.

Quiet ones are not strong enough for what he needs. He needs something that can do 1800GPH at 4'. Around 1100GPH for the return and 500GPH for the chiller.

At this point, I don't need the extra 500gph for the ciller. I've looked and compared all of the pumps and even the Quiet One 6k won't cut it. @ 5' head it can barely do 900gph.

The Mag 18 had the best flow but 2 problem 3/4" output only. I have a 1" sea swirl. :( And like other said, I might as well throw my new heater out and just use the mag 18 to heat the tank and chiller to cool it down to the right temperature.

I'm going to take another approach at this, now that I'm calm down from from the fustration last nite.

I'll try to make a stand to elevate my CL pump (Sequence) enough so that I can run a 1.5" pipe right under the CL pump for the Dolphin.

There's actually a benefit to this. The Dolphin pump will be pushed out further away from the wall which will allow easier access when it's time for servicing.

I've also seen people run pumps in parallel and in series for more flow. I'm not sure where, but maybe two small pumps may suffice.

but your other plan sounds pretty good.

i have a panworld 150ps that i've not used since i got it from Art (kinetic). Great condition--lmk if interested. -alan

so.....a mag 12 would cycle through a 125 gallon tank every 10 min(give or take)? seems like a lot of water flow. Do I really need that much? My tank has 2 drains, one on each side, both 1", Returning through 2, 3/4" inch pipes back to the tank. In my mind, after doing the math, it just seems like overkill.

To answer your question: No it won't be an overkill. I have 1200gph going through my 120g tank. Had the same mag 12 in my 100g as well.

As far as my mag 12 being available, I have some bad news. Brought it out for inspection to find that the thing is damaged. I'll just throw it away.
