I made a DIY brine shrimp hatchery that needs no aeration and you don't need to separate the shells from the BBS! It produces more BBS than I could ever use
Sure...I bought a "Critter Keeper" and cut a piece of styrofoam to fit snugly to form a baffle. I left it about 1/8" off the bottom to allow the BBS to swim under. I painted the "Egg" section black and cut another piece of styrofoam to use as a top. I put the eggs in the painted side and put the top on after about 12 hours. When the BBS start hatching, they swim under the baffle, leaving all shells and unhatched eggs in the dark side. I put 2 tablespoons of eggs and had millions of BBS in 24 hours!!! I just siphon them out through a rot filter and feed my fry or reef tank.
I hope I explained it so that it makes sense!
