I'm unhappy with the flow I'm getting in my 37 reef. I am currently using 2 hacksaw modded MJ 1200s on DIY magnets and two Koralia 1s. I have quickly discovered that the Koralia 1s do not produce adequate flow, at all, for my tank. In addition, though the MJs are modded, their stream is still too narrow IMO, and I think I'm probably using more watts than I really need to considering I'm using 4 PHs for flow.
I have mostly SPS in my tank and would like a better solution to make them happier. Everything grows quite well but I get fairly poor polyp extension.
Basically, those that have more experience, what would you do to improve my tank circulation? I have considered 1) build a closed loop system or 2) replace the pumps I have with a Koralia 2 and Koralia 3, or a couple 3s. The problem is that anything above a 2 will take up quite a bit of space in my tank. I have also been looking at the Tunze nano stream 6045. Suggestions would be appreciated.
