ok, first off i don't know what to do. i have a 90gal reef and i am very worried because my amonia level is through the roof (seriously) i don't have a clue on what to do for this, i just did a 20gal water change last night. this has never ever happened before i am lost and any help would be great.:worried:

How are your fish and corals looking ? Have you confirmed the test results ? Is there something dead in your tank spiking the ammonia ?

Water changes and using carbon are really your only choices to reduce ammonia. There are additives that "detoxify" ammonia but I'm not sure how well they work.

Good Luck

i am using a dr. wellfish saltwater master test kit, nothing in the tank is dead nothing new to report except that i added some KENT Phytoplex and Zooplex the test are confirmed to the best of my knowledge. fish and corals all look great. fish swimming around corals out and happy looking. what do you guys think???????????? i don't know.

If your ammonia really was through the roof, you should be seeing negative reactions from your livestock. If everything is doing well, your test kit is probably expired or just inaccurate.

I had this problem sometime if you put 1 to many drops in the test it will come to a very dark green. I thought I had the same problem just make sure you are putting 8 drops of each bottle in. HTH

well, hopefully you guys are right. i'll test again and post back in about an hour. by the way DETROIT TO DA MAX!!!!

ok so i re-tested and the read out is 0ppm i am very confused, i know i put 8 drops in last time and i did this time too- what gives any way i'' test once again to see what the final outcome will be.
