I need help please!!

nice lol. I wish i could find someone who lives close by.. I do have a friend who has a 120 FOWLR and a 92 gal corner reef but he only does water changed every three months or so and he juss did one the other day so yeah out of luck haha

If you can afford it, buy yourself a unit for your house. Should be all set with unit, storage containers, salt mix, everything for about 250.

Not only do you save money on water and stress on you back, you save money not going to the fish store every few days. I don't know about you folks, but while I'm there I might as well buy something else since I'm already there....can't just leave with only water...

The other thing is, I wouldn't put anything else living in there for a few weeks after it gets back up and running. Not sure how you're keeping the live rock "alive" while rebuilding and getting water, but, I wouldn't be comfortable restocking the tank until it's had time to "recycle".

Well i cant really purchase a ro unit and hook it into my water line being as i live in an apartment but i would love to have one of those and yeah I'm gonna take the restocking process as if it was a completely new set up..

you can actually get tap-adapters for RO/DI filter setups and just put it right on your kitchen tank. I had a buddy that did that a while back and he's never looked back...

Is it easy to set up with the tap-adapters.. Will i be able to easily unattach it when i move?? Does the ro water come out of your faucet? I'm confused as to how this would work. please give me details.

There are other adapters that are non destructive and easy to remove. The hose adapter and faucet adapter come to mind. I'm using a hose adapter for my ro/di hooked up to a splitter on the cold water going to my washing machine. :)

So you juss mounted the rodi unit on the wall and had water run from your washing machine line in the unit and the water that comes out of the unit where do you have that going?? can you turn the unit on and off because i dont want it to produce water 24/7 because i have no room for a trash can to collect all that water or anything.. thank you and get back with me..

yep, there is a hose adapter that fits just fine. Typically all washing machines have 3 connections (hot, cold, and drain) the waste water goes to the drain. Mine is easily accessible because of how high the water/drain is on the wall. I use the pure water I fill a 5 gallon bucket or 2 for water changes or a 1 gallon pitcher for top offs a few times a week.

There is a valve on the "pure" line that you can close and the unit I bought from airwaterice has an auto shutoff valve, so when you close the output valve the unit stops producing water all together.

It is a lot easier to hook up than it sounds, took me all of 10 minutes including mounting the unit on the wall.

The faucet adapters are nice as well, the adapter just feeds the ro/di so the actual water doesn't come from the faucet.

Could you give me a few links to some good rodi units you know of that I could hook up to my sink and or washer line? I need to to be not to expensive and work the way yours does. with a shut off and all that. if you get the free time i would appreciate that but i work two jobs so its hard for me to shop around for that kind of stuff. I would greatly appreciate it!! also would it be possible to take a few pics of hows yours is set up so i could have a idea on how i would do it? Thanks!!

I can see if I can grab a pic or two tonight of the actual connections. Check out airwaterice.com (I have their 75gpd unit) link

I hear the filter guys, bulk reef supply, and even Melev from melevsreef.com have some nice units but I can't personally say since I don't have one from them. Its mostly a matter of what you can afford and what connection type you want to use. Almost all of them offer a hose or sink type connector option.
