I need Help with my anemone

This is my anemone. I would appreciate it if you could tell what species it is, how best to take care of it, and what it doesn't like and so on. I have had it for more than a month now.

I have received the "you just can't buy a fish/coral/anemone without knowing what it is" speech and we can all agree that it is correct. So lets skip it and get straight to the information.

Just thought I'd post a different pic from your build. I am pretty sure it is a BTA, though not displaying the Bubble tip as prominently as some. Read up on them at wetwebmedia.com if you don't get much here.

BTA are of the easiest Anemones too keep.

It is a BTA ( Entacmaea quadricolor ) are fairly easy --- as anemones go, that does not mean that they are easy over all.

What size tank?
What lights?
What flow?
What are your parameters? (( with numbers ))

Yeah, it's a BTA (Entacmaea quadricolor), a good first anemone choice. It's nicely colored (not bleached) and has already attracted a clown it looks like. As far as it's needs: IThey like bright light, which I think you have have plenty of from your tag line; they appreciate moderate random water flow, specific gravity 1.025-1.027; nitrates 0 ideally, but will tolerate slight elevation; feeding food items such as a piece of silverside, squid, shrimp (table shrimp fresh from the seafood dept.), scallops, etc. fed 2 or 3 times per week. For that size anemone a piece of food the size of a cashew nut would be fine.

I pondered it being a BTA but it didn't seem like the pictures of BTAs I see in live aquaria.

The tank is 75 gallons with about 80 pounds of rocks. I think flow is not a problem; I have the return close to 1000 gph, mp20 vortech, and a korallia 3 (850gph).

No nitrate of phosphate kits
I guess they're low since I have no massive algae growth, frequent wc's, 0 TDS RO, and fast growing fuge.

My corals are doing well which includes a leather, digitata, and zoanthids.

All sounds good, ph is kinda low for my liking, but otherwise everything including flow sounds good. Frequent water changes, which you do, is probably the best insurance in keeping the water quality up to snuff for the anemone.

fast growing fuge might indicate higher nitrates than you think. Probably get a test and test for those first if you are concerned about its behavior/shrinking up. Soft corals can tolerate quite a bit higher nitrates than the nem. You may be surprised, I don't have a lick of algae, and I have only recenltly gotten my nitrates under 10 ppm.
