i have a 100 gallon tank coming in that measures 60x24x18... the sump is 42x20x15 as well.... there's going to be a dividing wall right after the sump so i can separate the electronics from the sump.. it will need to have 3 doors on the front... i basically want it to look exactly like the elos style stands or red sea reefer stands where the tank glass is flush with the stand walls....

i'm assuming this will need to be made of mainly plywood. any and all help is appreciated

i should add that my floor is unlevel and i will need leg levelers if i can avoid shims

3/4" plywood and a Kreg jig and good to go

Numerous images in a google search.. "elos aquarium stand"

I own a poket hole jig and I've read that link multiple times. I don't find it helpful. That doesn't answer my question in regards to distance without being supported 60" or 5' is pretty far. I've also used google 1000s of times. I'm not looking for a picture of a stand I'm looking for plans

I have never seen a elos or red sea reefer stand. What do you mean by tank glass is flush with the stand walls? I built a stand fir a hex tank that the side panels are higher than the stand so the bottom of the tank is not seen. I did not use any plywood in the construction though.

Google them

... The title specifically said "I need a plan for a diy elos stand"

In the description it lays out the specifics of the tank and the sump to incorporate into the stand plans.

If you guys can't help me it's fine. Please refrain from posting if it isn't to help. I described what I needed the best I can

I'm not trying to be unhelpful... that's just what I was thinking...

This is the type of thing that I'm interested in building... like I said, it's not the same size as yours though.

I'm confused in how to build the stand so that the tank is fully supported but the doors and side are not proud and are flush to the stand. This seems to be difficult

Does your tank have a rim or is it going to be glass only like the elos tanks?

The thing to do is have a frame on the inside of the stand's skin. Having the supports offset 3/4 inches in from the ends won't make much of a difference, whatever you make the top of the tank out of (maybe 3/4 inch plywood), it can carry the load of the tank in from the edges to the frame on the inside.

It's a floating bottom with no rim

So I could be wrong about this, but I think you just need to make sure that whatever you make the top out of is stiff enough that the thing stays flat once it's loaded.

I've read on here that people double up sheets of plywood and glue/screw them together when they need extra rigidity.

I might just use a 3/4" sheet

I think that you'd want a 3/4" ply anyway. As jewls suggested, you could always double up for the header.
