Good choice Bob. I had aiptasia real bad and those little dudes ate absolutely all of it. None left. Haven't seen any for months and months and months.
Of course it's not a quick fix. There's that initial 2-3 months of not seeing nudibranchs often or at all, and then you notice maybe there's fewer aiptasia in general, or spots free of them are are forming. Eventually you're finding berghia all around the tank and aiptasia are disappearing rapidly. It's a beautiful thing.
Reefpestsolutions is where Humuhumupukapuka ordered ours. She is up in Washington state. Maybe you could start a group buy for the club. If not, maybe I will have some eggs by January. I am in the process of cultivating them to share.
i jusr recieved some from Reefpest solutions. Hopefully I will also have some to share soon. If we pass then around the club maybe we can keep them alive
My 6 seem to be doing fine. I isolated them in a separate 2.5 gallon tank which sits in another 5 gallon tank. The outer tank is where the heater is located and currently no flow. Need to put an air pump in the 2.5 gal tank.
They have gone through maybe 6-8 aiptasia that I have fed them in span of 3 days. Already see 2-3 clutches of eggs. Not planning to grow those without more aiptasia and isolating to make sure no pods will eat the eggs & newborn nudis.
Starting them off in a seperate tank sounds like a great idea. I recieved 10 yesterday and put them in the tank. i did turn the flow pumps and lights off for some time to make sure they had a chance to attach and find a safe spot. Once i turned the lights on i noticed they had all moved.
Hopefully between the two of us we can build up a meaningful population. I definately have enough aptasia for them to feast for some time. The aptasia X just doesn't work well enough.
