Well, I have a 75 FOWLR tank being setup at the moment. I'm going to be doing a peaceful tank. I can't decide what to put up, i don't think the tank will be large enough for a small hippo or yellow tang, but im not an expert. I know i want to put a pair of clowns in, but haven't decided on the exact type. so i need some help with what to put in. I don't want lions or any other poisonous fish so i need some help. Any ideas for stocking?

Also if u need the specs of the tank, please ask.

hippo will be fine as long as he has both lengths of the tank to swim, front & back, yellow tangs can get mean so i would wait until your less agressive fish get settled, clowns will do just fine, they don't require alot of tank space. i have a 220 fowlr mostly angel tank. here's a few pics, i love tangs & angels

In my 120, I have a pair of ocellaris clowns, a multicolor angel, yellow watchman goby, pair of yellow tail blue damsels, and a sixline wrasse. Planning to add a smaller butterfly in the near future. Other than some occasional pushiness from the angel, they all coexist nicely. I would diagree with a hippo tang being okay in a 75. They put some size on and IMO need a longer tank. I had a yellow tang in for awhile but even as a smaller specimen he quickly became aggressive with my angel so he was removed.
Stick with clowns, gobies, fairy/flasher wrasses, a dwarf angel, dartfish cardinals. These all make relatively peaceful community fish for your size tank.

I will be doing a peaceful FOWLR for my 600g. I would consider a dwarf angel, royal gramma, a sixline wrasse, and one of the less aggressive damsels like the yellowtail to go with your clown pair. Some of the gobies are cool but I dont have alot of experience with them.
I see Jerry W has pretty much covered it but Ill leave my post up too.

I agree with you, I think a 75 is too small for any tang and WAY too small for a Hippo. Most hobbyists on this forum could give you a long list of suitable fish; but what do YOU like? Do some window shopping at Live Aquaria, or other sites and pick up a copy of Scott Michaels book " marine Fishes". Visit some LFS, but don't let them tell what will work. Sadly, the LFS used to be a great source of info; they seldom are now. Decide what you like, then ask for comments. I can't pick out your fish anymore than I can pick your clothes.

Well, i like clownfish, butterflyfish ,gobies, lionfish (but i would be afraid of it because of poisons), I wouldn't mind have a school of chromis, I sort of like the angelfish but not a lot, I like most of the blennies, Foxfaces, Puffers, I really love triggers but they're agressive and i've heard they can get mean as F#$@, I like Marine bettas, and i like eels.
I really like tangs, but of course my tank is too small :c

What do you guys think?

Heres a list of the fish i'm not fond of;

Cardinalfish
Wrasses - the reefsafe ones
Anthias
Basslets
Dottybacks

Please help :/

Foxface is pushing it for the size of the tank. There are toby puffers that would fit very well in that size tank. There are a couple small eels that would fit as well, but I would be concerned about them eventually going after small fish.

Just out of curiosity, what fear do you have of venomous fish? Is it getting envenomated or that you've heard the tall tales of death and horror that have been perpetuated by the uninformed?

To be honest, lions are about as mellow a fish as you can get, and getting stung will pretty much be due to your mistake, so if you respect the fish and always know where it is while working on the tank, you're golden. You can even use the aid of a "spotter" until you get your mojo down.

A 75 gal would be great for one of the medium-bodied Pterois sp., a M-F-F trio of fuzzies, or a couple of mixed Dendrochirus species.

Do you go outside with wasps? Their sting is almost as bad as a lions, and harder to avoid. I'd think a hypochondriac would be more afraid of the diseases and parasites that 3rd world fish can carry than a ltttle venom, but what do I know?
I knew someone that was scared to death of lionfish. His kid talked him into getting one anyway, it was an 8' tank. he had his hand in one end of the tank and the lion at the other. The lion moved a few inches, and he pulled his hand out so hard that his hanging light fixture was wiped out.

I guess based on that, there are some folks who would NEVER enter my home...there are Scorpaeniformes in every room (except the bathrooms) plus the garage!
