I need some info, please :)

i love how people respond that have never had the fish or a big tank - haha - i guess that is part of getting help from forums - everyone wants to talk and if they heard something that might not be true they just say it anyways - but its better then nothing right? :-) - just be careful - if you think it was hard to get them out of a 40 just wait till they are attacking each other in a 150 and you have to get them out in a hurry

just giving you a bump and to pick on some people - i am bored and home doing nothing :( no work today
 
Becca, your safe with those fish. I have had copperbands in reefs before and they don't bother anything as long as you keep them fat and happy... and you two feed plenty! We're just putting a huge skimmer on that beast to keep up with your feedings. And the blennies should be fine too, they will have plenty of space to stay away from each other in that tank.
 
in my opinion I wouldnt do a powder brown. I love tangs to death but I dont mess with the Acanthurus species. They are just way to prone to dieases and alot of the times become somewhat territorial. Some people have good luck with them, but they can really cause a mess in the tank that they are put in. just my two cents.
 
make sure its not tempered- i wouldnt do it if i was you - just use the two holes for down spouts and plumb up the back with the up- i think its a better look anyways - takes up less of your tank oh and the fact there is no risk in it
 
Thanks you guys! Since my tank isnt big enough, I never had to worry about the larger fish and their behavior or mixing species. Its something I just dont know much about. I know it will be hard to get fish out that turn out to be a problem, and thats why we are making our fish list now. I cant even get 2 firefish out of my tank :) Im always open to suggestions and tips, and thats why I post questions like that here.

Ive been having so much fun working on this tank! The stand is almost ready to stain, and I scraped all the old paint off of the back of the tank. We're just going to need help flipping the tank over so I can scrape the inside *wink wink*

here's a dumb question if it's tempered glass how is there holes in it already? just busting your chops. brannon said there was a 3/4 hole and 1/2 hole for bulkheads and the 3/4 is not enough for a drain imo.

It's tempered after the holes are drilled ;)

Yep ditto what tangwang said, when tanks are factory drilled theyy are tempered after being drilled..... I have yet to find a factory drilled tank that did not have at least the drilled pane tempered, check with the manufacturer if you have any doubts.
 
Butt... the hole has a chip out of the glass next to it.
The glass is pretty thick and the chip is very thin, but it is definately chipped.
 
Either way, more holes or not, Im just content with the fact that we have this huge tank that I get to work on setting up :)
 
Ok, here is a pic with the chip out of the glass. Do you guys think its tempered or not? :confused:
