I need to learn the ropes...

I am sure there is a million websites with information on digital SLR photography, but can somebody point me to a good source to learn the ropes. I have some time on my hands, and my Canon XSi is due to arrive tomorrow (but apparently I can't open until christmas ). I want to learn as much as possible about the different settings and techniques... All about aperature, ISO settings, shutter speeds, etc... I have a basic understanding of what each are (or atleast a general idea of what they might be...lol) but I want to be an expert (minus the years of experience ) So where is a good place to start from scratch? Demonstration videos would be awesome... I even thought about taking a class at my local community college...
