I need to set up a new tank .....QUICK!

OK, this not the best way to do things. A few weeks ago, I mentioned buying a new home, having to move my tank. For whatever reasons, I'm gonna have 3 days to set up a new tank to hold my current reef tank contents.

Looking at my floorplans, my basement will give me a wall that measures approx. 10 feet across. I can basically do whatever I want on that wall.

I want to put a tank as long as possible, with enough height where I might be able to almost reach the bottom of the tank if necessary. I also need to be able to set up lighting in a hurry. I don't have time to build a retrofit MH canopy like I did last time.

Is there a tank about 6-8 feet long, with "lighting out-of-the-box" that would keep my tank alive?

I have mostly softies, mushrooms. But I do have 2 beautiful Rose Anemone's and a Maxima clam for almost 2 years.

Currently running a AGA 90 gallon with 2x 250 14K Hamilton MH and 2 x 110 Actinic bulbs.

Why don't you just move the old 90 gallon as is and buy yourself some time to set up the dream tank correctly....

YOu know what they say about rushing things in this hobby..... You are also talking about some big bucks with this one and I would no9t rush it.....

I just went through setting up a new 850 gallon system.... It took over a year and there are still things that went wrong..... Expecting to buy something out of the box that willl work leaves no room for error...... YOu may pay in the end.....

Good Luck.....:D

I feel that moving a tank that I don't want anymore might create double the task.

Ideally, I'd like to get the AGA 180 with stand and canopy.

I'm concerned with lighting.

DO they sell lights that would simply fit inside a 180 canopy, without having to make a retro?

i agree with mmgm. i'm planning a 125g and have been since decmber. haven't bought a single piece of the tank yet. it's all about proper planning

AGA 125 is 6' and fairly shallow at 22" I believe. Get a current-usa outer orbit 6' or if money is not an object, sunlight supply maristar 6' and get the mounting legs.

Thanks.

I spoke to my LFS today. They said they could move my tank into my garage. I would then begin the install of the new tank. I guess that's the best way to do it.

I've decided on a 180
