Yep, I'm a new 6100 with single controller owner. Cant wait to throw it in my 72 and see how it works. Now I just have to figure out where I want to put it. Any tips appreciated!

A 6100 is a lot for a 72, the 6000 is more what I would recommend. You can use the 6100 if your main focus is SPS and the tank is bare bottom or coarse sand. Start with the flow low for sure, I would set up the pump to blow diagonally across the tank.

Roger,
I guess the biggest question I have is this...

My 72 bow has a Megaflow slightly off center with the return pointing right (if you are facing the tank). Which side of the tank do you think the stream would be better off mounted. If I out it on the right side it will amplify the current from the return that bounces off the glass. On the left it will converge with the return current.

Which do you think is preferable? Currently the tank is FOWLR, but I plan on diving (no pun intended) into corals soon, mabey a mix of hards and softs.

P.S. Bruce at MMR had a lot of nice things to say about you and Tunze. He said you would be very helpful.

Bruce is a good guy. I would go with a 6000 for that set up, the only difference is the 6000 has a smaller transformer. I would place it in the corner farthest from the overflow.

Could there be a mess up here? The box says 6100, but the pump has a 6100.10 siticker on the back. I paid the msrp for the 6000.

I read further in the forums and based on the sticker on the transformer (more than meets the eye) and I have a 6000. I wish it was a little more confusing.
