I did not know much about them till today and did a little reading. they sound awesome, so I picked one up. I put this little guy in my 5 gal nano.

You picked up a very pretty one to start your collection (I say "collection" because I'm betting after the first you'll want more lol) They're very easy to keep and of the dozen of so in my display tank they pretty much like any type of flow and lighting. Nice thing is with them being 'nem's - they'll move if they're not happy with the spot they're in.

:)

he connected to the rock.

And yeah assuming thinks go ok with this guy I will for sure be getting more. I read that you can cut them in half to propagate. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Yup, I've cut almost all of mine at one time or another. It's very easy.

remove nem
pat dry to remove slime
make a cut with clean sharp blade right through the middle making sure you cut the mouth in half so each piece has half the mouth.
I then put mine in some of the tank water with a couple of drops of iodine for a minute.
Place back in tank.

I've cut about 15 this way and only lost one half of one of the cut nems.
