Nah. I was defragging the puter at home last night and it was still going on this morning. I couldnt post till I got to work.
 
I dunno. Whatever came with the puter. Microsoft? Dude, Im computer illiterate. Have no idea what you just asked. LOL!
 
LOL!!!! What Cliff is trying to figure out is why it took so long to defrag? How big is your hard drive? Even a big one's shouldn't take as long as yours did. ;)
 
Thanks, Eric. Yeah, Russ, for a PC to take all night to defrag is really bad. If it's the defrag utility that comes with Windows, then I can understand. It sucks.
 
yeah, the defrag software that is in Windows Onecare live can defrag my 100gig hd in my laptop on the fly in about 15 min. The standard one in windows is junk.
 
If the HD does not have about 60% free space, it's going to take a very long time to defrag in some cases. And if the free space that HD has is spread out everywhere with no large areas to more files it could also take a very long time.
 
Seriously though, I have no idea what my puter is capable of. I bought it 2 years ago at Best Buy. Dude said it was a good one for the price ok. I dunno. Im not at home right now but I do remember it has a sticker saying like 120GB I think and something 512 maybe? Hey all I wanted was something I can store pics in and get online. LOL!! Ok, next time I buy another one, Ill consult with you guys first.
