I will not be using any skimmer for my tank..

Whats is the best effective way to control phosphate?

Mangrove, Chaeto, or just simply Rowaphos...

I will be only keepong one six line and one algae blenny

Tank size will be a 2 feet x 1.5 feet tank

No skimmer? Wow. I would say frequent water changes would be the best thing IMO. But I would never have a tank skimmerless. But good luck with it curious o see how well sps do in that small a tank with no skimmer!!

Unless you are doing frequent large water changes I am not sure how well a SPS tank will do without a skimmer.

you must need .. 1- over skimming
2- change 5% of water every week or 10% every 2 week and 50% every
6 months

because the sps corals they need clear water

The best way to control phosphate is to not add any.

Either from make up water or especially food. Two fish and no skimmer will probably be fine if you don't over feed. Not a lot of water volume there so you will have to be very careful.

Are you planning to run some kind of external fuge with this cheato and mangroves?

Rowaphos (GFO) will work to just fine to absorb it, if it does get out of range. Are you going to run it in a reactor? are you running a sump to plumb it to, or are you gonna hang it on the side of you tank?

I kinda think regular water changes are gonna be your best friend, to keep your water quality up for SPS though.

Hi,

I will be placing my rowaphos inside a Hang on filter/Aquaclear...

Will it be ok with that?

:)

I have a 10 gallon nano with a hang on filter (without media). I have SPS of a few diff types and they seem to be doing ok.....but I also do 15% water changes every other day.

It might be.

It is really hard to guess if your GFO is actually getting enough flow through it to actually do its job. Inside a hang on filter in a bag its really just a guess.
The bags seem to clog pretty fast causing your water to flow around, right on past your GFO. It likes to form into a brick pretty fast.

Then again for a small system, a small amount of GFO, changed often, might be all you need. Again depending on how much Phosphate you're adding to your system.

You should definately give it a try. Why not?

Let us know how it works for you.

:)
