I think I killed my clam

I have had this clam for about 6-8 months and it has been doing well. It was perched in a little crevice between the rock and my overflow. Anyways I looked in my tank today to find him hanging upside down behind the rock with its foot still attached to the rock. It was in a very precarious position and I could hardly reach it But I tried to squeeze it back through the crack it fell through and turn it upright but in the process the foot pulled out of the clam. I am pretty sure this will be the demise of my clam but I just thought I would ask if there is any possibility of survival?

I am afraid if his foot is torn or damaged he will not survive.

I figured I would leave it their and hopefully it would recover. it is a hardy specimen that has been happy for quite sometime until this incident. Always assume the worst and hope for the best.
