My goby decided he wanted to bite me and i wasnt expecting it so I pulled my had back and moved the rock my bta was attached to. Problem is he was attached between that rock and another, so i didnt want to put the rock back on him and risk pinching him between the two rocks, so I slid my finger under him and very slowly worked him off the rock and put him in the front of my tank, I dont think he was injured in the process, anyway what are some signs to look for to know if he isnt doing good, if you have any pics that would help alot, thanks in advance.

if stuff is coming out of his mouth. I'm pretty sure he wil fine. I've dettatched my anemone a few times and no harm done.

Nope nothing is coming outta his mouth, if anything he looks better?!? He was kinda hiding from the light and now he is getting a whole lot, he was all stringy and sucked in, now his tentacles are all bubbled up and stickin out of him, but just in case what else should I look for to know if he is going down hill

decaying foot, wide open mouth with 'speggetti' type guts hanging out... deflateing constantly..

but really, it should be fine, as long as the foot dident tear, your good to go. i would bet $$ it walks agian because it was moved, but i hope it stays front and center for ya :)

I detach BTA's on a regular basis, as long as its foot wasn't torn it should be fine. Sounds like you were careful and shouldn't be a problem. But do be sure you have any pumps/powerheads etc., intakes covered because it'll be on the move for a new spot to live, most likely.

I have accidently torn a BTA's foot once. I felt horrible! I was lucky, it split and gave me two. But agree, it's not a good thing to do. But wanted to add that they can recover from this.
