I think it's dead.

After 2 years of taking care of this awesome GBTA, it looks like she finally gave in.

I moved into a new house a month ago and ever since the tank move she just hasn't been the same. Always inflating and deflating many times a day. Normally that only occurred about once a week.

I guess my question is how do I go about removing the body. She's been in the same spot ever since I got her. She's attached to the bottom of a deep hole in a rock. Do their feet release after death?

Oh well, I'm bummed. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sorry for your loss. :(

To answer your question, they do release, but they are mushy, so they still kinda stick. Your best bet is to try to pry it out gently with a chopstick or something like that. I would recommend removing it from there in a glass or cup of some sort, as they fall apart VERY easily. Afterwards, try to siphon out any parts that came loose before they float away. This process may be more effective if all flow is turned off first.

You do not, under any circumstances, want that to fall apart. It is like instant death for your tank. I had a carpet do that and I scooped it up in my hand. Killed my whole tank......good luck.

Sorry to hear about that slumlord.

I'd agree that being very careful in removing the nem should be your highest priority. Like bradleym said, try to siphon out anything left over. A WC would probably be a good thing.
