Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, I was very successful with SPS. Then kids, their school stuff, their sports, etc came along. Now, I’ve got one married and out of the house (with out first grabdchild) and the twins both graduated from college although still living at home.I never had them The tanks I have now were a cumulation of frustration over all the non reef safe things and large fish I could never have. I added a few small ones at first and they grew but were completely consumed later. A bare frag plug laying on the bottom.
I heard that lots of hobbies is a sign of having no friends.Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, I was very successful with SPS. Then kids, their school stuff, their sports, etc came along. So, after many years, I’m finally having time for the hobby again. Although, another past hobby has bitten Mrs griss and I. Boating and fishing. So, I’m splitting my time between two hobbies.
Gotcha, I was always more interested in coral than the fish. My parents had a 200 gallon fish only when I was in high school and college a million years ago. So, when I got out of college and we had our first place, I set up my first reef based off articles in FAMA and MFM magazines.I wanted anglefish. I have some in both tanks. Then there were butterflies. And the urchins which got large and wiped out colonies in one night.
I put many tiny corals in ands the ones I have now didn't get eaten.
As I accumulate these John, let me know when you want frags. As you can see, I’m already actively fragging what I have. The two blue/dark corals are from @Nanook and the green/yellow is from LA.Welcome back George

I hear you.Looking great. One of these weeks I need to do steady testing to figure out a dosing regime but first I need to get a doser and supplies lol. Some great deals in the market place just can’t afford it right now
You have no idea how accurate you are.I heard that lots of hobbies is a sign of having no friends.
Which doser are you considering?Looking great. One of these weeks I need to do steady testing to figure out a dosing regime but first I need to get a doser and supplies lol. Some great deals in the market place just can’t afford it right now
Experience. Friendless in your 50's is the new normal I think. My wife and I are best friends but really only hang out with other people a few times a year. I never talk to anyone from the old gang (unless you count drunken extraverts that phone until I can't ghost them anymore, lol). I look at the 60's+ age groups and they talk with their friends every week. Something definitely changed. You have no idea how accurate you are.
I’d like to get a Neptune Dos to integrate with my apex but I’ve also been considering a KamoerWhich doser are you considering?
Who have you ordered from?I’m I just put in an order for another 10 sps/acro frags. So much money in tiny little specs of life.
I have (2) orders from corals.com last month. Some chalices, encrusters and 2 LPS frags.Who have you ordered from?
Same here. Mrs griss and I are 55, actually born 9 days apart.Experience. Friendless in your 50's is the new normal I think.
