I think my apex died

Got up this morning and my actinics were on even though they are not supposes to come on until 11:00 am. I glanced over at my apex display and everything seemed normal. I opened up my stand and the skimmer wasnt running even though my collection can was only maybe half full (it has a float switch to shut off the skimmer when it is full). I get on my computer to check the apex and it wasnt connecting, so I grabbed the display and it was frozen up and the time on it was showing 4:14 am. I unplugged the EB8 and plugged it back in and nothing happened. I found someone here saying if none of the lights are on on the base unit, then more than likely it is no good and none of my lights on the base unit are on.

I just emailed neptune since it is sunday and I hope to get a response/resolution soon.

I am heavily dependent on my apex because I travel for a living and must rely on my girlfriend to do the day-today maintenance when I am not here. I have the apex to automate everything and keep me informed of my tank.
In the mean time, I am trying to set everything up, marking everything and making a list of what will need to be done on a daily basis for my girlfriend because I am heading out of town this afternoon until next Saturday.

Try leaving it unplugged for a few hours, the more the better, then plug everything back in.

If there are no lights on your base unit it's broke. Be prepared to send it back in for repair, and having to deal with controlling your tank without your controller for at least a week.

I tried unplugging it and had no success.

I dug out a bunch of timers that I had and I am just waiting for a response from Neptune.

I am really disappointed in this. Does this problem happen very often? I am trying to figure out if I should buy a second base unit in case it does happen again because I really depend on my controller.
