One week ago I decided to try and add a bubble tip anemone. The anemone looked great in the store, I acclimated it, and added it to the tank trying to place it in a good spot but it never stuck to a rock so I just tried to let it do its own thing. Later I checked on the tank and it was closed and upside down. My cinnamon clown was all over it - brushing through what was exposed and looked like it was trying to help it/host it. I tried turning it over and set it in place again then let it be again. I checked it a couple hours later, it looked worse, and the clownfish was still going at it strong. By the end of the night the aneonome was spit out its insides and the clown was away from it looking defeated - discolored on the head and stripe and even had spots of green glow to it just like the aneonome gave off. I removed the aneonome and tended the tank as normal.
Between then and now the clown still looks discolored just no green after about 24 hours.
3 days ago I notice she has nips on her fins and was acting even more strange so I watched more than normal and saw my neon dottyback charging the cinnamon and only the cinnamon, the tomatoe clown would help protect the cinnamon from the dotty but the dotty would still only attack the cinnamon. Never had a problem with my fish attacking each other before so I knew something more was wrong. Have been trying to catch the dotty with a homemade trap since he's too quick to get with a net but no luck yet.
The cinnamon swam into the trap yesterday so I decided to close the door to it and leave her separated. She would swim in circles and up and down and I thought she seemed better. I opened the door to it and it stayed in the cage only swimming on the bottom, not up one out the door. I tried to help her and she seemed as if she didn't see the net. Out of the cage she swam into rocks and the sides of the tank, eventually the dotty changed her and swam after her and she swam away running into rocks and the tank again.
My only thought now is that she's blind. Not sure if it's something from the bubble tip or the dottyback. Is this a disease or is she doomed? Also not sure why the dottyback started attacking her in the first place...
Extremely long post, I know, but help is much appreciated! I've never posted anything until now so I'll try and add pictures soon to help show *** I'm saying. Thanks!
