Right now I have a pair of clowns. I've had them almost 2 years. The female is a regular percula and about 3" long. The male is a picasso and quite a bit smaller.

I'm thinking about selling my female and getting another picasso. The plan is to let my male become female and the new clown would be the male. In theory it should work right?


Should I remove the female and let the male be alone for a bit? Or would it be ok to remove the female and add the new clown around the same time?

you can add the new clown when you remove the female just make sure the new clown is much smaller than your male.
