I want a yellow tang.

Then no. You shouldn't even have any tangs in that small of a tank.

Are you speaking from personal experience or do you have any data or references backing up what you just said? I know a few people with tangs in the same size tank as mine. I've even seen plenty of pictures online with tangs in smaller tanks than mine. Based on many resources on the net, I see that some tangs will do as fine in Tanks as small as 20 gallon.

Not trying to start an argument. Just trying to get an answer to my question. Since I'm getting mixed facts from various websites like marinecenter, or vividaquariums, now getting different facts from you--I remain confused.

Ive kept marine fish for over 2 years and can garentee no tang would be happy and wouldn't have enough room in a 60 gallon tank. There are threads like this all the time and people get flammed for keeping tangs in a small tank. They do that for a reason. Tangs need room and aren't a good fish choice for a small tank. Simple as that. Yes, I have kept 3 tangs before so I know the requirements needed.

Alright, thanks. But you still referenced no data or anything else backing up your logic other than people getting flamed for having tangs in their tank.

I'll keep your post in mind, but while doing so, I'll remain with an open mind.

All those sites you listed do not always have true information. Online stores want your money and will tell you that you can have 10 tangs in your tank if that means your going to buy 10 tangs from them. Im telling you right now with experence that you shouldn't not get anthor tang.

Depends on what type of tangs.

Both the hippo and Achilles get large. Ive seen some hippos and achilles both over 12''

I had heard that about the hippos, not about the Achilles, though.

But until they get big, they'd be fine?

Yea, I saw two achilles at the a fish warehouse around 12'' long. Huge suckers for $200. The growth rate is differen't but most grow between 2-4'' a year. One guy on a differen't site said his went from 1/2'' to 6'' in one year.

If I don't kill them, I could probably sell them and buy their replacements.

That would be a pain to try to catch them and then not stress them to death after being in the tank for that long. Stick with smaller tangs so you don't have to worry about that.
