390 gallons, just set up about 3 mnths ago. i have stocked it with a lot of softies and a few sps corals. I have plenty of room to keep it away from the other corals. Water parameters are normal and everything is doing well. Lighting consists of 3 400watt metal halides and 4 96 watt power compact actinics. The main idea is to go with something that will give the clowns a home. I am not looking for something very extravagant but rather something that would be pretty hardy. I hope this helps.
BTA's are hardy but with softies it could be a bad idea because you just dont know where its going to go. Plus you should wait until the tank is 6-9 months old to add an anemone.
I understand that but what does that techniccally mean, bacteria, feederfood, coralline growth, sand bed maturation. What is going to stabilize in those 6 months to help an anemone over other corals?
yeah bacteria and life, you will eventually start to see loads of pods running round when the tank lights are off. It might not seem it but 3 months can be along time in this hobby.
It becomes a more stable environment. And probably a bigger key is it give you more time to learn, make mistakes, and correct them before you have anemone that might not make through the learning curve.
you need to wait alteast a minimum of 1 year, research mature tanks and you will get you re answer. anemones need pristine water conditions and a very stable tank. you re tank is still going through a lot of changes and needs to settle in.
again research anemones and mature tanks.
