I want Sally Light Foot Out

Since I got a Sally Light Foot Crab, my mandarin and now today, my lawn mower blenny have both been found dead on the floor. I've had both these fish for a very long time and since I put Sally in I think its the crab chasing them out. I read on a thread, after I got it, that it has been seen eating fish. Could this crab have chased these two fish out trying to catch them for food? If so, how do I catch it???? I don't want to lose any fish to a crab!

Thanks!!!

Kim

i'm sure it was the crab. i read a article about crabs, and it said sally lightfoot's have been known for eating, or at least attacking fish. plus, with fish like mandarins and lawn mower blennies, they both tend to move around on the rock, making them easier for the crab to catch. my suggestion would be to get that thing out as soon as possible.

on another note, they are interesting creatures. if you have a refugium you could keep it in there.

Just take a smooth sided glass jar and place it leaning up against the rocks with a piece of something meaty to bait it. It's worked for me many times.

I was told that a bottle set up on a angle, maybe 45 degree, would do the trick. I think you put food in the bottom and put the neck of the bottle were he can climb in but can't climb out.

Thanks for everyone's help. He's a fast little sucker. I hate to take him out but he's the only explanation for our non-fish jumpers to jump out of the tank. Haven't caught him yet but we'll keep trying!

Same here, mine is pretty big & has given me no problems. I feed it when I feed the fish though, so perhaps he is always full.
