I want to start a Canadian club/ Ontario club

Hey fellow Canadian reefers(NOT! canabis! lol), let's get a dialogue going on this website. I know many people from my area frequent this website. There isn't a good national website for reefers either. I tried to click on the "start a club" but the link is DEAD!

I couldn't find a place to send message to mods either so I thought I'd post here. Let's get one going peeps!

I am thinking we really need a Canadian club. It's because while there are some regional websites, there really isn't one where most Canadian reefers congregate except here. While I am a relatively new here, I have gotten wind that many of the long time active members here are Canadians. I think it would be nice to be able to exchange information about reef keeping challenges and solutions for the great white north.

Does anyone else agree with me?

Anything ever come of this suggestion? We do have a club here in Niagara but it appears to cater to FW. Been googling "shows" as well and doesn't seem like anything ever happens in this neck of the woods.

Hi all from Ottawa, On. We have a couple of local forums, live others though a lot of freshwater. I will say this is a good idea but at the same time there is one forum that is used a lot. Its a lot of west coast people but there are many that are all over. Check out www.canreef.com

The frag tank is better for Ontarians. As far as actual clubs, there is one in Kitchener that has a lot of marine guys I think. KWAS.

KWAS is largely Fresh Water. Hence the reason I'm here.

good Idea, but I think to make a subforum here we have to get MAST involved. or the equivalent ...

I wish we could have better reef clubs ... I went to MAST a couple of times, was a member for many years .but same work shops every year, and not much interaction between members ... I didnt even know what size tank ppl had, till I finally gave up going ...

a forum where ppl can post would be great, it would boost up the possible frag swaps and also make helping one another much simpler.
