Iam torn between 2 fish

Ok iam torn between 2 diffrent but closley related fish so please give me your opinion as to wich fish you would choose and why you choose this fish over the other.

fish iam torn between are the sohal tang and the clown tang,

tank mates would include large angels and triggerfish

tank is not is not in my physical pocession at this time so this is just a plan(dream) at this time so iam not running out to buy either of these fish at the present time

iam aware (from research) of the basic particulars of each fish iam asking if you were looking at either fish and had the right tank for either one wich one would you choose and why, which one would you not choose and why

Go with the Sohal as Clowns are a difficult species and may not do well with more aggressive tankmates. I hope you are planning a FO with those other fish selections.

water keeper it would be a FOWLR tank.. no corals at all unless they magicaly apear on the live rock and if they do the fish are welcome to have a free meal or i would pull the magic corals out and put in the wifes coral tank (maybe if i got really froggy and decided to jump)

+1 on the sohal for the same reasons! I also prefer the looks of the sohal

+2 on the sohal. Clowns have a miserable survival rate in captivity. The sohals are beautiful but mean as ^@#%*@.

if you get the clown and it doesnt survive...youll be back to square one having to spend the money again.

they look alot alike...take that advice from a noob whose lost money taking risks.

go with whatever is more likely not to make you reach for your wallet again.

ive kept both and i still have a sohal. The clown did fine but became very aggressive and the sohal looks way nicer so i kept the sohal.

I also agree that the Clown Tang has a dismal survival record. It's very hard to get to eat.

I agree- go with the Sohal.

Sohal all the way but it is very aggressive and I would add it last if you plan to have more fish with it. Also make sure it has plenty of swimming room.

Oh yeah and by the way. I have corals in the tank with that sohal it it doesn't bother them at all but I just got lucky I think. He is about 7.5 inches long now and fat as can be.
