Ian's 400 Gallon Marriage Test

Very nicely done so far.

Does your area require you to get a building permit for that type construction?

How did you attach it to the wall?

Some inspectors will accept digital pictures as long as it is from different angles and shows great detail.

Just some food for thought.

I always love the TBS rock. Hitchhikers can be a pain, but it is worth it for the biodiversity in my opinion. Can't wait to see where this goes!

No, my community is very liberal about this kind of thing. If it doesn't effect the structure it's cool.
I could even start a coral farming business on my property if I wanted.
We fixed 2x4s to the floor with expansion bolts and then built the walls off of that.

You almost could have gone straight up, on that one wall. At least that will give you some storage for longer stuff above the room. Now you can put more stuff on the other wall too. GFI's/Plugs every where.

Did you see the room I re-purposed in my 180 build thread?

We found 2 cucumbers. Both Donkey Dungs but they are black with red tips.

Some corals and what I think is a gulf curly q anemone. It's similar to aiptasia but nowhere near as invasive. It's also really nice looking.

I re purposed the ex-wifes craft room. No she does not live here any more. LOL

I emptied it out and put up walls and all.

Thanks. I cant wait to see your new climate controlled fish room when you get it finished. How is it coming?

I have most of the walls up but I am leaving one off so I can get the new water tanks into the room. The temp is already down to a steady 78.

So, it has been a while... sorry for not updating.
Here is a visual update:

My aqualifters for the calcium reactor kept dying, so I just bit the bullet:

Then after all that we were about to go to California for a 2 week trip. And I had a little health scare.
Waited 3 days and then headed out to Cali.

I have decided to upgrade my WC station based on some of the designs I have see in other large tank builds.

In place. I still need to build the platform and plumb it all together. Just waiting for a pair of DC pumps I ordered.

I got a fantastic deal on a new skimmer at MACNA.
This was one of the display skimmers so I got the "We don't want to carry it home" deal.
